Obama, The New Hope of the United States as a Symbol of Democratic State

Barack Hussein Obama is a phenomenon. Several months a ago, he just an ordinary black man Senator of Illionis State. Now, he is a Democratic Candidate for the US Presidency by The Democratic National Convention. By his confidently performance in Presidential Debate againts the Republic Candidate, John McCain, he became the most popular person, not only in the US, but in the whole world. By his thoughtful, independent-minded leader, and charismatic speaking skill, he become a magnet to million people in the whole world.

If Obama elected as the US President, he will become a symbol of the US as a real of democratic state, the first black man president of the US, that is an anomaly to the doctrine of White – Anglo Saxon – Protestant. On the other hand, the white people majority in the US ought to accept him because he also a white people descendant. His father are black, but he was borne by a white woman from Kansas, US. Although his mother remarried with an indonesian and moved Obama to Indonesia, the muslim country, but now Obama is a Christian.

Obama and his wife Michelle are proud parents of two daughters, Malia Ann and Sasha. Obama as a Harvard Law School graduate, where he became the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review, has rich and varied experiences life because growing up in different places with people who had differing ideas, and by his progressive thinking, he will be trusted as a real democrat figure. By his colorful backgroud, Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on August 4, 1961, son of Ann Dunham, a white woman from Kansas, US and Barack Hussein Obama Senior, a muslim-black man from Kenya, a Harvard-educated economist. Obama’s father eventually returned to Kenya, and Obama grew up with his mother in Hawaii, moved to Indonesia for a few years with his mother and step father, Lolo Soetoro, a muslim-javanese, then has a half-sister, Maya Soetoro who married with Konrad Ng, a chinese-canadian, he will be more flexible in the US foreign affairs and able to approach the developing and muslim countries.

By his mission, Change we can believe in, he promises will change the US military policies to be a democratic government by diplomatic approaches in their foreign affairs. In 2002, he publicly opposed the Iraq war and continues to call for withdrawal of the US troops from Iraq up till now. He said that if he elected as a President of the US, he will meet the US opposant countries leader. Hillary Clinton also believed in Obama will able to help the US financial crisis.

US Presidency Election will held on November 4, 2008. American people is going to elect their president. We are waiting and hoping, will they choose the right one, the president who will change the US as a military state to be a democratic state at home and foreign affairs, then praised by the whole world or not?
